If a website blocks your proxy, tell us this much
Updated 2 min read
If a website blocks or challenges requests that come through your proxy, write to support@proxypanda.io and we will look at it with you. The more of the list below you can include, the sooner we can see what is going on.
Please tell us
- Which website, and the exact page or API address you request. Please do not send a login page that needs your personal account.
- What you see. The status code (the three-digit number the website sends back, such as 403), and what kind of page comes with it: an error, a CAPTCHA, an empty page or a redirect.
- When it happens. The date and time with your time zone, and whether it happens every time or only for some requests.
- How you send the request. The command, or the program and its settings, with your password replaced by
REDACTED. - Your exit address. The IP address that
https://api.ipify.orgshows when you request it through the same proxy. - What you have already changed. For example a different target, a different session, a lower request rate or a plain browser.
- Your order, or the product you are using.
Three checks that often help
- Request
https://api.ipify.orgthrough the proxy. If it works, the proxy itself is fine and the website is the one saying no. - Request the same page without the proxy. If it fails there too, the proxy is not the cause.
- Try a second, unrelated website through the proxy.
Block pages and captcha pages that a website sends back still use traffic. Stopping a job that keeps getting blocked saves your bandwidth. See How to see how much traffic is left.
What not to send
Please never send passwords, API keys, payment card numbers, or screenshots that show them. We do not need any of these to look at a blocking problem.
