What you can and cannot use the proxies for
Updated 2 min read
Most things people use proxies for are fine. A few things are not, and we enforce that line. A clean pool is the reason your requests get through.
Fine by us
- Scraping publicly available data
- Price monitoring, rank tracking and SEO tools
- Ad verification and brand protection
- Market and academic research
- Testing your own apps and infrastructure
- Checking how your site or ads look in another country
- Reaching geo-blocked content for your own use
- Sneaker, ticket and release bots, where the platform's own rules allow them
Banned outright
Any of these gets the account closed. One credible report is enough for us to act.
- Credential stuffing and account takeover
- Carding and payment fraud, including fake-account farms and referral abuse
- Spam of any kind: email, SMS, comments, forms or sign-ups
- Child sexual abuse material. We always report it to the authorities.
- Harassment and stalking, including building a profile of a private person
- Attacks on infrastructure: DDoS, brute force, port scanning, exploiting systems you do not own
- Malware, including running command and control through our network
- Getting around paywalls to republish someone's paid content
The list is not complete. Something that does the same kind of harm is banned even if it is not named here.
Your part
You are responsible for following the law where you are and where the target is, and the terms of the sites you visit. Please keep your request rate reasonable. Sending so many requests that a small site falls over is rude, and in some places it is a crime.
If you are not sure
Ask before you start. Write to support@proxypanda.io and describe the job in a sentence or two.
The full policy is our acceptable use policy. What happens after a report is in If your account is suspended.
