Your first proxy, step by step

Updated 2 min read

Here is the whole path from a new account to a working proxy. You can start small, and your balance never expires.

1. Create your account

Sign up with an email address and a password, then open the confirmation link we email you. You need a confirmed email before you can add funds or order. See Creating your account and confirming your email.

2. Choose a product

  • Residential: home internet addresses, paid per GB. Coming soon, and not on sale yet.
  • ISP: a fixed address from a consumer internet provider, rented per IP. For logins that must stay on one address.
  • Datacenter: a fixed server address, rented per IP. The cheapest way to start, for sites that accept server traffic.

Not sure? See Which proxy should you buy?.

3. Add funds

Press Add funds next to your balance in the dashboard, and pay by card. Crypto and PayPal are coming soon. See Topping up your balance.

4. Order

Order ISP or datacenter IPs: see Ordering ISP or datacenter IPs. Residential is not on sale yet: see Buying residential traffic: coming soon.

The order is paid from your balance and set up straight away.

5. Connect

Open the proxy under Proxies in the dashboard. Its page shows the host, port, username and password. Put the details into your tool and send one test request:

bash
curl -x "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT" https://api.ipify.org

If it prints an IP address that is not your own, you are connected. Our setup guides cover many tools step by step.
