Checking whether something is down

Updated 1 min read

If your proxies stop working, it helps to know first whether the problem is on our side or on yours.

Ask us

Write to support@proxypanda.io, or use the chat button on our website or on this help centre, and ask whether something is down. If a problem on our side cost you traffic, see When something went wrong on our side.

Check your side

Run these three checks from the machine that uses the proxy:

  1. Request an IP-echo page through the proxy:

    bash
    curl -x "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT" https://api.ipify.org

If it prints an IP address, the proxy works and the problem is with the target website.

  2. Request the same page without the proxy. If that fails too, your own connection is the problem.

  3. Open the proxy in the dashboard and check that it is still Active and has bandwidth and time left.

Use the host, port, username and password shown on the proxy's page in the dashboard.

If the checks do not explain it, write to support@proxypanda.io with what each check showed. How to reach us, and what to include lists the rest.

Still stuck?
