Turning on two-factor authentication

Updated 2 min read

Two-factor authentication adds a second step when you sign in. After your password, you enter a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. A stolen password is then not enough to get into your account.

What you need

An authenticator app on your phone. Any app that makes six-digit codes that change every 30 seconds will work.

Turn it on

  1. Open the account menu and choose My account.
  2. Open the Security tab.
  3. Next to Authenticator app, press Set up.
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, type the Setup key into the app instead.
  5. Enter the six-digit code the app shows, and press Turn on.

If the code is rejected, the setup key stops working. Press Start again to get a new key, and scan it again.

From now on, after you enter your password, the dashboard asks for a code from the app.

Keep access to your app

The dashboard does not show you any recovery codes. If you lose your phone or delete the app, you cannot sign in by yourself. You will need to contact us to get back in. Many authenticator apps can back up your codes, which is worth turning on.

Turn it off

  1. Go to My account, then the Security tab.
  2. Press Manage next to Authenticator app.
  3. Choose Turn off two-factor authentication and confirm with your password.

Your account is then protected by your password alone.

Passkeys and security keys

The dashboard does not support passkeys or security keys for signing in. Use an authenticator app.
