Changing the password, protocol or address of an ISP or datacenter IP

Updated 2 min read

You manage each ISP and datacenter IP from its own page in the dashboard. Open ISP or Datacenter under Proxies, then open the proxy. The actions below are buttons on that page: on its connection card, or at the top of the page. Most are also in the proxy's row menu on the list. An action only appears when it is available for that proxy.

Get a new password

On the connection card, press Generate a new password. The old password stops working straight away, so update every tool that uses it. Do this whenever you think the password has leaked.

Switch between HTTP and SOCKS5

On the connection card, press Change protocol and pick the one you need. Anything still using the old protocol stops connecting straight away. Copy the port again afterwards, because it can change with the protocol. See Using SOCKS5 instead of HTTP.

Use an IP allowlist instead of a password

On the connection card, next to Authentication, press Change. See Letting the proxy recognise your IP address.

Get a different address

An ISP or datacenter IP keeps its address for the whole term. That is what these lines are for.

Sometimes we offer a free replacement, for example when an address needs swapping and we have stock to swap it for. When one of your proxies qualifies, a Replace a proxy button appears at the top of the proxy's page, and it opens a list of the proxies that qualify. A replacement:

  • costs nothing,
  • keeps your login, your term and your allowance,
  • gets a new address in the same country, chosen by us. An ISP proxy keeps the same internet provider.

The old address stops working the moment the swap happens. Copy the new details from the proxy's page. If there is no Replace a proxy button, none of your proxies qualifies right now.

Copy many proxies at once

On the ISP or Datacenter list, select proxies and use Copy or Export. Format lets you choose the layout, such as HOST:PORT:USER:PASS, and you can download the list as TXT or CSV.

Something else is wrong

Press Report an issue at the top of the proxy's page. See Telling us about a problem with a proxy.
